Perched high on a hill in Duck, this three-level home looks out over the rooftops and maritime trees to the Currituck Sound, with sunsets you can watch from the living room, the decks and the pool. Outside there's a private infinity-edge pool and a hot tub; inside, a big game room and a separate media room give everyone their own space. Duck Blind sleeps 15 across five bedrooms and four full bathrooms. Please note the home has sound views but is not on the water, and the ocean beach is a short walk away.

Community:
Duck Blind is in Sea Colony, a small neighborhood of homes on a private road. Guests have access to the amenities of the neighboring oceanfront Colony by the Sea:

• Tennis courts (lined for pickleball)

Parking:
Duck Blind shares driveway access with a neighboring property. We kindly ask guests to park in the designated driveway closest to the home and to be respectful of our neighbors. Thank you for your cooperation!

For your convenience, we offer a completely contactless check-in experience. You’ll receive a unique front door code 2 days prior to arrival, allowing for secure, easy entry at any time—day or night.

Guest Portal:
Your guest portal puts everything you need in one place, including property details, local things to do, and helpful house instructions.

Management:
Our property is expertly managed by Rather Be Properties, and we’re committed to making your stay enjoyable and seamless. Our team is available daily from 9 AM to 9 PM to assist with any questions or requests. You can easily reach us through the Airbnb app, by phone, or email. For any urgent issues after hours, we also offer a 24-hour emergency line, ensuring support at any time during your stay.

Sea Colony is a small, quiet neighborhood of homes on a private road in Duck, right next to the oceanfront Colony by the Sea, whose beach walkway, community pool and tennis courts Duck Blind guests are welcome to use. Duck's village shops, restaurants and soundside boardwalk are a short walk away.

Pet-Friendly Accommodations:
We welcome one dog only (up to 60 lbs) for a fee of $325 per stay. This fee helps cover the additional cleaning required for pet hair. If any waste beyond hair (such as urine or feces) is found, an additional $200 cleaning fee will be charged. Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pet, and dogs should not be left unattended in the home, as barking may disturb neighbors. Please note: Dogs are not allowed in the pool. Please let us know if you are traveling with a dog

Pool:
Our private pool is seasonal, typically open from late March or early April through October, weather permitting. The exact opening and closing dates shift a little each year with the weather, so just send us a message and we'll happily confirm the dates for your stay. Outside the season the pool is winterized and covered — the hot tub is available year-round.

Pool Heating:
Pool heating is available for $125 per day plus tax. It's booked for the full length of your stay and needs to be requested and paid for in advance, with at least five days' notice, so we have time to bring the water up to temperature. Water temperature does depend on the weather, so we're not able to promise an exact degree.

Hot Tub:
The hot tub is included in your nightly rate at no additional charge, and we turn it on ahead of your arrival.

No Adhesives on Walls or Glitter:
Do not use tape, hooks, stickers, or any other materials to attach decorations or items to the walls, as this may cause damage. Glitter is extremely difficult to clean and can cause lasting damage to furniture and surfaces. Thank you for respecting our home and helping us provide a clean, welcoming space for every guest.

Pests:
Duck is home to midges, tiny seasonal bugs that are harmless and do not bite, but they can appear in large numbers. To keep them out, we recommend keeping doors closed as much as possible and turning off outdoor lights at night, as light attracts them. We regularly treat the area, but they may still be present outdoors. Bug spray is a great idea for enjoying the deck and pool areas. Additionally, snakes from the nearby marsh can occasionally be spotted. If you see one on the property, please contact us immediately, and we will arrange for animal control to remove it.
